The challenges faced when promoting websites are great, in an economy where people see the internet as a "free ride" to financial stability in the face of an increasingly impossible job market.
Recently, I've been working to promote a new adult website I've been working on called Tube Spider. I have encountered many issues with using the so called "traditional" promotional methods, which I see as an incredible saturation of advertising methods.
Many webmasters in the past have exploited somewhat spammy methods of promoting their websites such as link exchanges/farming, pointless social networking sites, and even going so far as to create entire networks of blogs with auto-generated content in order to make their link appear relevant.
My hope with Tube Spider is that we can find creative and original legitimate methods to promote our site, in a way which will not appear spammy or compromise my ethics in regards to advertising and fair use of the internet.

Promoting your Ecommerce Website
The internet is a truly marvelous thing, although my business is located in Los Angeles it allows me to sell to the whole country and even the world! The internet is in my opinion the most valuable digital media on offer! The only problem with ecommerce websites is that there are so many of them out there.
If you run your own ecommerce website then you may be searching for ways to improve it and make it more popular. The key here is to stand out from the crowd; you have to offer something unique that nobody else is able to offer. The most important thing to consider at first is web design, how attractive and easy to navigate is your website? If you find it difficult to use yourself just think what your visitors will think. There are hundreds of other sites selling things similar to yours, so why would anyone use your site if it was difficult?
If you’re not capable of web design yourself then you might want to consider hiring a professional such as Sharewell Group Inc.
Other ways to promote your online business include affiliate programs; you can find plug-ins for the majority of shopping cart software to facilitate affiliates. This is a great way to expand your business at virtually no cost, you will be getting sales people to help you sell your product, and however you only have to pay them if they actually sell anything.
SEO is also a very important thing that you need to consider to improve the success of your site. Most visitors will find your site by using internet search engines, which is why you should put every effort into making your site search engine friendly.
If you are running an ecommerce store then you shouldn’t simply copy the descriptions from the products manufacturer, copying is not good in the eyes of search engines. Try to write your own descriptions, or if you can’t then hire a ghostwriter.
You should also use header tags throughout your website; make sure that you make full use of both H1 and H2 tags. Use these header tags to highlight the product names on your ecommerce website, this will make it easier for search engines to determine what you sell.
If you are using images to create links then it is vital you use alt tags so that the search engines can ‘read’ what is in the picture. Fill these with keywords so that they are useful to search engines.
Incoming links to your website are also very important; you should try to get lots of incoming links preferably ones from reliable websites. A great place to get links from are the manufacturer’s websites.
Of course you should never ignore your customers, they are much more important than you might imagine. Not only do they buy your products, but they are also capable of promoting your business for you! It’s not really that hard to improve the success of your business using promotion and marketing techniques, but it is a lot of work!
